Gazelle-toned lawn, warm as sun-bleached stone. Kashmiri embroidery climbs the canvas; coral lilies, sage vines, cherry berries, ice-blue birds —
a meadow stitched into the mountain. Tiny speckles of mirror catch the wind like frost. Burnt gold scrollwork hems the shirt and cuffs. Tassels fall like pine cones.
A light gold tonal silk dupatta drapes the shoulders, embroidered in kind each vine continuing, unbroken, from shirt to air. She stands barefoot on rock. Gold at her brow. Horses in the valley below.
